Emlid Reach RS2+ GNSS receiver

Now new: Emlid Reach RS2+ at CADdy Geomatics GmbH
Emlid Reach RS2+

In the meantime, Emlid has made a name for itself among the GNSS receivers: Inexpensive, accurate devices with a comprehensive range of functions. A real competitor to the expensive (and sometimes overpriced) devices out there.

The RS2 has always been a dear companion to us. Multi-frequency GNSS with free access to GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU and GALILEO in several frequencies, SIM card slot for correction data, free base/rover operation with a range of 8 km and a clear GUI with the most important functions. Our WebCADdy Pro app expands the range of functions with numerous practical measurement solutions such as line measurement, polygon measurement, staking out, serial measurement and much more.

In the course of last year (actually at the turn of the year) the UMTS networks in Germany were switched off and this led to problems. The SIM card used (partly multi-network cards) often could not connect to the correction services. This could be avoided by using a mobile device as a hotspot, but the convenience suffered somewhat. The reason for this is the built-in 3,5G modem, so full 4G/LTE access was not achieved. This has now been fixed!

The Emlid Reach RS2+

is the brother of the RS2 and now finally offers a 4G modem in addition to the high-quality range of functions of the predecessor! This means we can conveniently use the SIM card again and save ourselves the detour via the modem in a smartphone/tablet.

The Reach RS2+ has a waterproof and impact-resistant construction. Manufactured using a two-stage injection molding process, its body is made of impact-resistant polycarbonate covered with a special elastomer for added protection. The receiver has an industry standard 5/8” mounting thread.

The Reach RS4+'s LiFePO2 battery is rated for 16 hours of work as a 4G RTK rover on one charge regardless of weather conditions. You no longer need to carry spare batteries with you. Reach RS2+ can be charged via USB wall charger or power adapter via USB-C.

The RS232 interface allows the Reach RS2+ to be connected directly to external hardware and the home position in NMEA.
