CADdy V and the DWG world

The powerful 3D CAD program with true survey kernel for the DWG / DXF world.

BricsCAD® has become an alternative number 1 for AutoCAD® and provides convenient ways to edit DWG and DXF data without significant restrictions. If you want to run CADdy together with BricsCAD or AutoCAD, that's no problem. From CADdy Classic V you start the program, which is linked to DWG in Windows. CADdy automatically transfers the current project and important settings.

Now many CADdy functions can also be used in BricsCAD. Our new plugin for BricsCAD is here: CADdyV4BricsCAD, Thus, a complete surveying coordinate administration was integrated and similar manipulation and list functions as in CADdy possible. The interface to numerous CAD and GIS data formats are provided in import and export functions. After merging the data, you can work on an 3D terrain model and perform volume calculations and longitudinal and cross profiles via the horizon management.

Work with CADdy Surveying and easily switch to BricsCAD, the sophisticated DWG editor.

With CADdy, you will work in both worlds at the same time in the future.

The features of CADdy V for BricsCAD

  • Access to all CADdy-V plugin functions in a clearly arranged tabbed tabbed window
  • Coordinate management in tabular view
  • Delete points, create new, edit, average, connect
  • Numerous CAD and GIS import and export formats such as CSV, CADdy-KOR and -PIC and many 3D point cloud ASCII formats
  • Triangulation based on the Delaunay algorithm (also in parts of a project)
  • Contour generation
  • Create break edges, exchange triangular edges
  • Horizon management of any number of horizons
  • Horizon generation from coordinate management or from any 3D point cloud files
  • As an additional plugin is also a thinning pre-filter with the CADdy PointCloudMinimizer to disposal
  • Parametrizable graphical output of DWG drawing elements such as surface, triangles, vertices, umring, contour lines
  • Mass determination between two selectable horizons with REB-compliant output (REB-VB 22.013)
  • Creation of longitudinal profiles and cross profiles with comfortable profile axis management
  • Attaching shapefiles with property attributes (can be used to import ALKIS data via the CADdy ALKIS studio were generated)
  • Plot output, coordinate grid

Function overview BricsCAD®

  • AutoCAD DWG support

BricsCAD allows users to read, write and view DWG and DXF files - without converting from AutoCAD version 2000 to 2017 and without fear of losing data. You work in the native DWG format.

  • AutoCAD instruction set

Most CAD professionals have spent many years learning AutoCAD (short) commands. Since these shortcuts make up a large part of the CAD work, these (short) commands are fully supported.

  • Menus, fonts and symbols

Customized AutoCAD environments can be conveniently transferred to BricsCAD. BricsCAD works seamlessly with Symbol Libraries, Fonts (SHX), Scripts (SCR), Menus (CUI), and Dialog Boxes (DCL), which are a classic component of ADS or AutoLISP programs.

  • Productivity

BricsCAD allows the user to open multiple documents simultaneously (MDI). This feature allows CAD users to view two or more drawings during a session, copy objects to another drawing, load and edit xrefs, copy elements from a drawing, and paste them into another drawing. Even the editing of text elements is very easy. Similar to text editing programs, larger text areas can be selected and edited (Multiline Text Editor). Changing properties in Windows is quick and easy with the right mouse button. The ability to change multiple elements at the same time reduces errors.

  • Support of raster data

Also raster files can be displayed in BricsCAD (even georeferenced) and edited. Scanned documents such as aerial photographs, satellite imagery, drawings or maps can thus be integrated correctly into plans. BricsCAD also includes a number of raster image output and editing tools. With them you can easily edit the color, grayscale and black-and-white images. It supports a large number of standard graphics formats such as WMF, EMF, SLD, BMP, GIF, JPG, TIF, PCX and CALS-Type1.

  • Visualization

Powerful 3D commands in BricsCAD enable the creation of complex 3D models. These 3D models can be displayed as wireframe models with hidden edges or with filled areas. For this purpose, the LightWork Design 3D renderer has been integrated into BricsCAD by BricsCAD. It is therefore possible to create drawings ready for presentation.

  • Scripts support

Similar to the macro language in Microsoft Office, BricsCAD can record and automate tasks. So commands and other options that have been used once, can be used again and again. Again, the compatibility with AutoCAD is guaranteed: BricsCAD supports script files created in AutoCAD (SCR).

  • AutoLISP and ads

BricsCAD also protects the investments users have made in developing AutoLISP programs, for example to automate and increase functionality in AutoCAD. This is an important feature because there are a large number of AutoLISP libraries available. All AutoLISP routines are supported. Existing ADS (AutoCAD Development Systems) programs that contain DCL can be used after recompilation.

  • Support of modern programming languages

BricsCAD offers even more. Not only does it support standards such as Auto-LISP and ADS, it also integrates the tremendous power of Microsoft's C ++ and .NET.

  • PDF export

It is now possible to export drawings directly in PDF format. There are some settings for the PDF format via the _PDFOPTIONS command. Using this tool, the drawings can be exported in the easiest way as PDF documents.
