Tutorial flight planning DJI P4 RTK

The new firmware version for the control of the P4 RTK opens up more possibilities for the professional flight planner and flying surveyor. This also enables special flight planning for excessively high survey objects or facades.

All previous standard flight plans of the DJI P4 RTK were “horizontal flight plans”. The drone flies in horizontal planes and creates photos either nadir (vertical in -90) or with an inclined gimbal (e.g. for 3D flight planning). As a result, it was always cumbersome and in some cases not even possible to get good 3D models, for example of facades.

With the latest updates of the P4 RTK, DJI is now taking this into account. The "inclined flight route" is excellently suited to planning the flight vertically for the first time. This opens up completely new possibilities. For example, facades, very steep terrain structures,

In the example below you can see the aerial survey of the former Lünen power plant using four inclined flight routes, which were "put over" the object like a pyramid. In this way, in combination with standard flight plans (e.g. 3D photogrammetry), details between the individual buildings could be clearly displayed.
