MORE STABLE BUNDLE BLOCK BALANCE – more matching images for “critical” datasets
One of the most wanted improvements for 2020!
Extremely robust bundle adjustment (BA) even for the most difficult terrain with minimal overlap.
High vegetation, little image overlap due to differences in terrain, and blurred images usually mean that not all images are successfully adapted in the BA step. The new, more robust bundle adjustment achieves 30 to 50% more adjusted images compared to the previous version!
LATERAL ORTHOPHOTO
Facade orthophoto with the help of a user-defined level - no more limits for 2D orthophoto generation! Choose your orthophoto layer and take orthophoto images of any object you want. Create a building facade orthophoto in no time and easily extract the 2D information you need.
NEW PRE-SELECTION OF MATCHING PAIRS FOR A MUCH FASTER CALCULATION WHEN NO TELEMETRY IS AVAILABLE
If you take pictures with a standard digital camera, you usually do not have telemetry data from the pictures (exact GPS position). This means that the software has to compare all possible combinations of image pairs in the processing step. If you have more than 1000 images, we will accelerate this step by more than 100 times with new matching pair preselections.
CALCULATE MESHING ON THE BASIS OF CAD POINTS
Calculate a 2,5D mesh based on CAD points in no time! Easiest way to convert your GPS / GNSS data or total station points into areas that are perfect for volume calculations, contour line calculations and much more.
3D MOVE OPTION - for point clouds and mesh
With version 3Dsurvey 2.12 you now have the option to move the entire point cloud or the mesh for a specific vector (value) by simply entering the displacement value in the dialog box.
TRANSFORM MESH INTO POINT CLOUD
Now you have the possibility to calculate point clouds based on mesh data. This could help you if you only have mesh data and want to calculate the profile lines or cross-sections. Create a point cloud based on a mesh and then use the standard workflow for calculating the profile lines. Another useful application is if you have holes in the point cloud and want to interpolate points in between - go and create a mesh from the standard point cloud and the inverse calculation of the point cloud from the created mesh - then you get a point cloud with no holes.

REDUCED HARD DRIVE USE BY MORE THAN 55%
In version 2.12, we optimized disk usage by more than 55% during the dense reconstruction step! This means that if you previously required 100 GB of free hard disk space for the point cloud reconstruction in 2.11, you now only need 40 GB of free hard disk space!
OPTIMIZED MESH TEXTURE on GPU
Each selection, each switch between tabs or the deletion of the data caused additional time for the presentation of the final results. This is now fully optimized for the best user experience.
IMPROVED SCRIPTING ENGINE
3Dsurvey also offers support for script engines - in 3Dsurvey version 2.12 we have also improved the script function with new functionalities.

LEVEL OPTION FOR TEXTURE CALCULATION
If your graphics card is not able to calculate the full texture resolution for 3D mesh, you now have the option of calculating the texture with full, half or quarter resolution:
THE TRIAL VERSION IS NOW UNLIMITED
The trial version has no time limit. This means that even after 14 days of trial use, you can still work with the 3Dsurvey software and use it as a viewer mode. You can view your project, examine the results, calculate new projects, but you are limited with the storage and export options.
