Our recommendation: The "small" A1 / A3 drone license

The EU drone regulation is again the subject of our current communication today. We want to keep you, dear CADdy Geomatics customers, up to date with all kinds of tips, information and recommendations.

In our last newsletter we informed you that the deadline for registration by the Federal Aviation Office has been extended to the end of April. Nevertheless, we recommend that you complete this registration as soon as possible. True to the motto: what you have, you have!

All those of you who have proof of knowledge in accordance with LuftVO §21 have a transition period until the end of 2021. From then on, proof of competence A1 / A3 and possibly also A2 is mandatory. Most of you still have time to take care of the new "drone license".

But! After registering as a remote pilot, we recommend (https://uas-registration.lba-openuav.de/#/registration/uasOperator) to take the examination for proof of competence A1 / A3. This has several advantages. 1.) What you have, you have !, 2.) This is a prerequisite for the A2 competency certificate, 3.) As there is currently no national fee schedule, the exam is currently free of charge.

From our point of view, however, the most important thing is 4.) You will learn in online training (https://lba-openuav.de/) all currently applicable legal provisions. In many places, these deviate from the requirements of the LuftVO from 2017 known to them. This clear and clear online training course is ideal to keep you up to date.
